Hi there! Welcome to the Slight Edge Investor (“SEI”) blog. I am Jann (Pen Name) and the author behind SEI. Why is it called Slight Edge Investor? Well, I took inspiration from one of the books that changed my life which is “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olsen and the rest is history.
Purpose of SEI blog is to hold myself accountable as I want to challenge myself to attain Financial Independence and Retire Early (“FIRE”) in 10 years time. That would be by December 2031.
About Myself
I am a full-time employee and salary is my primary source of income. I have a small secondary source of income through Forex (“FX”) trading. I have engaged an IT developer to code my trading strategy into an Expert Advisor “EA” and have been using the EA since the start of 2020 to generate passive income consistently without manual intervention. My Action Plan to Achieve FIRE (On-going)
- Fully Paid HDB – to pay all outstanding loan by end of 2031
- Emergency Fund – have at least SGD 100,000 (in cash or equities)
- FX Passive Income – aim to have at least USD3,000 per month
- Dividend Income – aim to have at least SGD36,000 per annum
- Trading Income (stocks, crypto etc.) – aim to have at least SGD 2,000 per month
- Rental Income – aim to get a second property to generate rental income
- Other Income – any side hustle or freelance work I can take up
